‘Gabain’ genealogy 2: from the first to the sixth generation

Jean-Louis Isaac Gabain. Born May 2nd 1751 in Celle, died July 27th 1834 in Bremen at the age of 83. Merchant and ‘Ältermann’ in Bremen. Married on January 7th 1787 to Margarethe Focke, born April 17th 1787, died July 21st 1827 in Bremen. They had 10 children.
Pierre Louis Etienne Gabain. Born December 31st 1765 in Celle, died September 23rd 1849 at the age of 84. Hat manufacturer in Celle: took over the old factory of his brother Jean Pierre at the Trift after his death. Married twice: to Anna Henriette Veronica (born March 15th 1772, died May 8th 1802) on October 17th 1794 in Celle, and to Dorette Jacobienne Vieth (born December 14th 1768, died August 20th 1808) on April 18th 1804.
 
Sophie Gabain-Eckhardt. Descendant from Colberg. Born in 1767, married to Jean David Gabain (born August 5th 1757 in Halberstadt, died April 24th 1818, merchant in Leipzig). They had 5 children. Their daughter, Emilie Frederike Demuth – Gabain, donated the portrait of her mother, painted by Anton Graff, to the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig. The painting can be viewed on the second floor (sixteenth- to eighteenth-century art).
George Abraham Gabain. Born March 19th 1763, died November 22nd 1826. Silk manufacturer in Berlin. Married on March 6th 1791 to Caroline Henriette Augustine Gropius from Raepke, who was born September 19th 1779 and died on March 4th 1831 in Berlin.
